The lights in the rink have been shut off, you could hear Seattle's celebration for miles, but maybe that was the haunting image in my mind. I was still in shock and couldn't believe we were so close to forcing a game seven but fell short they just outplayed us that game and they deserved it, but I didn't want to believe it. I don't think any of us wanted to believe it. Pretty much everyone had left most would come back in a few days to clear things out, but I decided to hit the ice for a little to distract my mind knowing it would be hard to sleep.

A few days later we would go in and finish clearing out lockers and do the final press conference of the season.

"Hey Spaz you're the final one up" coach said to me.

I looked up confused and replied "For what"

{Coach}:"The media wants to interview you"

I stood up and went to head out I wasn't sure why they wanted to speak to me, I also wasn't sure what I was going to say or if I was going to fuck things up. I stood in front of the podium and waited for the first question.

I picked the reporter sitting bottom left "Spaz you guys made it to the finals but fell short, what are your thoughts?"

"I mean what would anyone feel falling short? Disappointed yes, but also proud of this team for making it this far, and it also gives us hope going into next season." I waited a little before I would pick the next reporter

"Spaz, John from channel 9 news, What are your off-season plans, will you be staying in Helsinki or do you have plans on going back to visit your parents?"

"I'm not sure honestly, I don't have much time to go to the states or really take time away from the ice. I would rather get on the ice and start working on something's for next season" I replied

I chose the next reporter quickly. "Your contract is after this season, do you plan on continue playing here or do you have other plans"

"I plan on staying here in full honesty if there's room for me, but it will all depend on how I play this season and if I get a contract extension."

I would answer a few more questions before I ended it, and would finish help cleaning out lockers.

A few weeks had passed before I decided to hit the ice again and get back into shape. I decided to take two weeks off and just relax before preparing for the next season. We would eventually find out who we brought to the team and who we were letting walk in free agency. We would bring up and sign Seabass Perrin, Patrik Liane, Oh Sens, and Calvin Harvey, while drafting Chase Crosby, Gabriel Akerstrom, Jacoby Buckfast, and Kate Upton.

I'll be preparing for the regular season the next two weeks as training camp should start up soon. I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it home to visit. I'll see you both during Christmas break.

Love your Son.
