Gotta start with the most hardest and important position in Hockey, Goalie.

Jacques Lafontaine, one of the new star goaltending in the league and he is still fairly young. He came off of a .917 SV% and a 2.46 GAA season with 37 Ws in 64 starts. Impressive stats for a goalie that young.

I'm seeing him have similar stats this year, but maybe a better SV% since he should get a lot more shots on the net now. The team defense may have gotten worst than last year, but we will see if that is going to push him even more during the season.

For defense. We got all of our d-mens back and they are looking even better than before. General Zod and Kosmo Kramerev were quite a dominant pairing in the VHL having both a +52 and a +43 last year. I hope they play together again this year and produce the same kind of stats yet again.

Now we got Latrell Mitchell. He may not have the most points on the team, but he's doing all the little things that make him such an important part of this defensive core. He leads the d-mens with goals, blocked shots, and second in hits. Maybe Edwin Encarnacion is the Shea Weber, but he is the undervalued Jeff Petry of the Calgary Wranglers and his role is so much underestimated right now.

Now we got Edwin THE Encarnacion, one of the best d-men in the league entering his prime. He's maybe one of the best playmaking d-men in the league. He came off of his best season yet with 75 points and I think he can get even more this year. He could be a good bet with predictions for d-mens awards this year.

Finally the forward core. Some will say that their forward core was much better last year and I think that would be the case too, but they got a championship-caliber player in Scott Greene. He has FOUR continental Cup under his belt and came off of his best season yet last year. Confirmed HOF in him. Maybe he's not playing under the great Banacock system anymore, but look out for him on his last season!

Now RJ Jubis, a talented winger that is planning to play center this year?! He will have the big task to carry his line of rookies this year and guide them through the year. We all know Jubis is a big-time player and we hope that he will be over a point per game, but can he carry a line by himself? Only time will tell.

One of the biggest acquisitions during the off-season, Sigard Gunnar is taking his talents to Calgary yet again! He just won the Mike Szatkowski, Kevin Brooks, and the Brett Slobodzian Trophy? Nothing much else to say with this big-time player with this resume. If he can repeat it again this year, I think CGY will be top 2 in the NA this season.

This is where come CGY depth. Willie Dredge who came off of a PPG season. His production might fall down or might be better. Now the two rookies that's been the talk of CGY since the VHL draft. Luke Thornton went from #1 (Talking about TPE) in the rankings from getting drafted with CGY 11th pick and Jonas Stormsson. A second-round pick that the scouts did not expect to see in the VHL this quickly. Yukon might have made a mistake selecting him 3rd overall in the VHLM draft if he's still planning on making the big jump already (I don't really know how the VHLM draft went). What will these rookies show in there time in Calgary, which they might be the face of the franchise one day?
