Molholt 2,185
Jarkko Olsen had become a figment of the past, a future topic of a sad sports documentary about the player that never was. The Marcus Dupree of the VHL, a disappearing act. Then he returned to form, and minimally helped the Dynamo win a cup. Then he lost a cup. Now he is a key piece of that same HC Davos team that is trying to find themselves back in contention for a cup once more. However, Olsen's motivation for winning has appeared to be replaced by a motivation for his own individual statistics. During his post game media interviews, he has talked at length about his individual successes, his line from the game, and his progress compared to his past seasons. What has changed for Jarkko? Is he no longer concerned with winning, and only his own performance? We doubt it. Olsen seems to be looking for ways to motivate himself to succeed. He is reaching a point in his career in which it becomes harder to improve as a player. He has hit what most would consider his prime already, and is considered to be on the downhill stretch. However, he is battling it out to stay relevant and stay competitive. He will never be that legendary talent that he could've been, but he's not going to go down without a fight.
