Mike Sterling signs with Mexico City Kings

Mexico City has been making a lot of acquisitions recently as the push for a playoff spot. The addition of Mike Sterling is an investment in this young player's future.  

 

Projected to be drafted in the late second round Mike Sterling is a versatile goalie with a lot of upside teams might miss. It's likely due to him needing time to develop that he is going to be Mexico's long term solution in net. Where luckily he will learn from one of this league's best goaltenders in Markus Emerson Jr. Interviews with Sterling had him answer that "He is happy to learn from one of the best" in Emerson and sees himself taking over once Emerson is called up to the  VHL. analytics say Emerson is likely to be called up in the late 75 early 76 year. 

 

Sterling is a new prospect to watch recently due to his phenomenal performance as a member of the Black Lightning as he posted 2 shut outs to win them the OWBHL championship, beating his former team the Grey Geese 2-0. He was traded to the Black Lightning from the Grey Geese early in the season as the Black Lightning's starter went down to injury. The Black Lightning acquired him after he made 62 saves on 68 shots. with absolutely no defensive help. He had a phenomenal season which caught Mexico's attention. We'll watch his development because we think he will be a phenomenal future member of Mexico City.
