Kevin King stepped before the media today to answer several questions following his podcast on Friday. Below are some highlights from that media spot.

1.    King was asked about his current struggles in Vancouver:

“It’s not an unusual spot unfortunately. I’ve had my struggles the past few seasons. You just keep trucking on and hope things improve. It’s what the best in the league tell you, it’s the sports’ way of thinking. That’s what it is. I’d love to be on the top line putting up 90+ points a season but right now I’m not so I have to do what I can to get there while helping Vancouver succeed where I can now.”

2.    The topic of your future was briefly covered in the podcast recently, do you have any other comments on your future beyond this season?

“No.”

3.    You’re currently on the 3rd/4th line right now. Is that on par with what you expected when the season began?

“Honestly, it’s not my call. I’m obviously not on fire offensively and it’s not really my place to discuss who is where in the lineup. Beaviss does what he can to put us in the best place to win hockey games and that’s it. Whether I’m on the 1st line, 4th line, or reserved that’s what Beaviss feels is best and I need to have an understanding of that.”

4.    You recently talked about feeling the passion slipping from you for this game, has that changed at all since that post?

“Right now I’m focused on the latter half of the season and a potential postseason run in Vancouver. Everything else is not at the forefront of my thought process. Right now I want to win hockey games and hopefully be in a position to help the team win a championship later.”
