Playoff Record (after S20): 180 GP | 96 W | 67 L | 17 OTL | 4-1 vs TOR, 4-3 vs QUE, 4-5 vs NYA, 2-2 vs SEA, 1-0 vs DAV, 1-0 vs COL, 1-3 vs HEL

Season 50 VHL Entry Draft:

1st Round, Pick 2: RW Theo Axelsson

1st Round, Pick 10: G Joanna Akerfeldt

2nd Round, Pick 16: D Luke Matthews

In back to back seasons, the Wranglers picked 2nd overall and this time they got to chose RW Theo Axelsson and that was a home run pick. Akerfeldt was looked at as the goalie of the future possibly even a trade chip as Weinstein was still in town. Late 2nd round pick, Matthews was a dart thrown at the board.

Season 50 Regular Season - 72 GP | 33 W | 29 L | 10 OTL | 76 P | 142 GF | 167 GA

Season 50 was a magical moment for the VHL as never before has a Sim League reached a 50th season. The season for the Wranglers went a lot better than the previous two. The Wranglers moved up from dead last to the 3rd and final playoff spot in the NA Conference. Theo Axelsson was the 2nd overall pick from the previous draft and he stepped in nicely with 58 point season to go along with a massive 324 hits. Gowecny chipped in with 54 points of his own while Marquis Hyvarinen led the team with 63 points. Weinstein was also a huge reason why this team jumped up so high in the standings. He had a record of 33-23-9 with a 0.929 save percentage and a 2.05 G.A.A with 10 shutouts.

Season 50 Playoffs - 4 GP | 0 W | 2 L | 2 OTL

The Wranglers finished in the 3rd spot meaning they would play Quebec City in the North America Conference Semi-Finals. Looking at a glance, yes they got swept but if you dig deeper, two losses came in OT and another loss was a 1 goal game. The only game the Wranglers were out of was Game 1 where they lost 5-2. Game 2 was a OTL game in which the Wranglers led in the 3rd 2-1 before QUE was able to tie the game with 3 minutes left. Game 3 was another game in which the Wranglers blew a 3-2 lead before QUE stormed back in the 3rd with 2 goals to take the lead with less than 3 minutes left. Finally, in Game 4, it was a 1-1 game for 90% of the game as Theo Axelsson tied it up in the 1st before QUE won it in OT.

Overall:

After two down seasons, the Wranglers are moving back up in the VHL world. A hard fought series against the Meute shows the rebuild on the right track for Season 50 and beyond. Theo Axelsson and Ariel Weinstein form the core while Travis Gowecny and Ted Doughty could join the two aforementioned players. Marquis Hyvarinen moves into the 100 point career mark with 139 making him one of 46 players to do so. Jace Hines and Ted Doughty could join him next season as well. Ariel Weinstein has the best save percentage for a Wrangler goalie and his 2.05 G.A.A is 2nd among goalies as well. He looks like he could be the best Wrangler goalie of all time, he has the potential to do so. Overall, this has been an interesting season for the Wranglers, the fruits of their rebuild are starting to show.
