Dan Dan Junior Review

They say to never trust a guy with two first names, but what if it's the same name? Dan Dan has joined the minor league of the VHL. Many experts around the VHL haven't heard of Dan Dan, but he's been a local star in his hometown of Sundsvall Sweden. He has been out of the hockey world for nearly four years, but he's continued to hone his craft and has taken to a career in training the Swedish hockey youth.

 

Dan has been one of the premiere trainers in Sweden since pursuing this path. Dan records much of his training with the kids and posts his videos to his Instagram page and on his website. He has always had such a way of explaining the intricate details of the game that even a non-hockey fan could understand his breakdowns.

 

Dan Dan had basically given up on his dreams of playing professional hockey, and his training media wasn't exactly widespread. It wasn't until his supermodel fiance, who is a global celebrity, secretly recorded and posted a video of Dan to her Instagram. He was working on new techniques to install into his tough training regimen. The stick work and footwork was beautiful; it was flawless. This video eventually made it's way to ESPN where the outlet featured the video in their "Top 10." Hockey stars began to comment, scouts began to notice, and Dan Dan's dream was beginning to surface again.

 

 Scouts had found footage from several games of Dan when he did excel in the youth circuit. Dan had always been considered an exceptional two-way player, showing aggression on defense and dicing up defenses on his way to craftily beat the goalie. Dan could always skate with the best of them and had tremendous puck control, but some of the reasons he never caught the attention of the professional leagues previously was due to sloppiness in other areas of his game. His passing was mediocre, and he was subpar at face-offs, penalty shots, and he wasn't very disciplined in the weight room.

 

Dan Dan eventually accepted an offer from the Philadelphia Reapers on a trial contract to finish out the season. Dan had done enough in the second half of the season to be considered an option on draft day for many teams and was eventually selected 20th overall by the Mississauga Hounds where he has performed above expectations and where his hockey dreams have come true.
