Legion back up wins all 8 games, Hextall ready for playoffs

Hextall struggled at the start of the season, the team having many games lost by one goal, we all remember their 1-9-1 start and how they turned it around after that. Hextall was great through the mid season and was course to post some of the best numbers of his career. Sadly that didn't happen after struggling with some of the games near the end of the season.  His final numbers are 30-27-7, one less win then last season but still over the 30 mark. He posted a .917 save percentage for a third season in a row and a 2.89 goals against average, his second worst but better than last years.

 

What's perhaps is pretty impressive is that the Legion's back up, won all 8 games. Now one could say this is Peace deploying the backup smartly but it's still remarkable regardless. He posted a .937 save percentage and 2.10 goals against average, stellar numbers. Some wondered if he would take the starting job but it's clear that Peace believes in Hextall, that he is the better goalie in the end. With the regular season being finished the playoffs have begun and the Legion are facing the Seattle Bears, last years champions. The first 2 games have split going one and one. Hextall said he wasn't exactly happy with his performance in either game but was glad to at least able to hold on to get them one win. Here's hoping the Legion can go on a bit of a run.
