Game 6 against the Vancouver Wolves would end with them rising victorious outscoring the dragons 7-3 and ending their post-season run. Veteran defenseman Ricky Johnson appeared disheartened having faced a familiar taste of defeat back in season 73. Although, this time Johnson found himself as a center piece to the D.C. Dragons as he'd record 15 points with 4 goals and 11 assists during the 9 game appearances which was the most of any player on the Dragons during the post-season. This comes as no surprise given the breakout season Johnson had recorded. He ended off with 79 points with 13 goals and 66 assists. All of which were career highs for him with the assists landing him within the top 10 in the league. He also didn't slouch on defense with him recording 172 blocked shots. His dedication to sacrifice the body didn't go unchecked as it also landed him among the top 10 of playing as a second goalie. Even with this season's accolades, Johnson was vocal in expressing that his efforts weren't enough as stated below:

"I'm not surprised by what I was able to achieve this season. From the time I entered the VHL, being one of the top defenseman was a goal of mine and I feel this season was the closest I've gotten to that. To it was enough? Well I definitely don't think so. We didn't win a title nor was I really given All-Star honors or recording the top amount of points from my position. I wouldn't scratch this season as a completely failure, but I know I still could've done more to help us..."

Having recently re-upped for another season with D.C. Dragons, it looks as though Johnson intends to play his last season with them. One would wonder if this would be the ideal move for the defenseman given the Dragons playoff record which hasn't allowed them to get past the second round. It's clear that his mind has already been made up though and he intends on not only being a leader for the team, but to give D.C. everything he has.

"Since being drafted here, I've worked hard and will continue to work hard for this team even if my body tells me otherwise. I know I can count on the guys in the locker-room to give the same energy as well. I want to help them bring this franchise a title and will do everything in my power to do so. Hopefully I can end off my career with a bang."
