S74 Founder's Cup Review

I know that is been a bit since the Founders cup final has finished but we are here now. 2 teams battled it out to be crowned this season’s founders cup. Will it be Miami, the absolute underdog and waiver warriors, or will it Taro Tsujimoto lead the Hounds to cup glory.

 

Miami got off to a red-hot start in game one, taking a 5-1 led midway through the 2^nd period, with Cabe McJake bagging himself a hat-trick. Mississauga clawed it back to 5-3 but the marauders closed out the game thanks to an excellent performance to Rara Rasputin and give themselves 1-0 series lead. Game 2 was a lot less heavy on the scoring but Miami showed that ability to close out games and ended up winning this one 3-1 to take a 2-0 lead. Rasputin again backstopping them by posting a .960 save percentage. Game 3 was about as tight a game as you can get. The game swung like a pendulum throughout, with the Hounds taking there first lead of the series in the 1^st. Miami tied game in the 2^nd thanks to Sheldon Juniper and then took the lead 8 minutes into the 3^rd through Hoffmann. Mississauga then tied the game at 2 on the powerplay with 6:25 left on the clock taking the game to overtime. Miami once again flexed that clutch gene of theirs as JL Gunnar scored 5:21 into OT to give then a 3-0 series lead and put them on the edge of glory.

 

Game 4, will it be a sweep or will the Hounds live to fight another day. Mississauga opened the scoring thanks to William Shakespeare II of the feed for Tsujimoto to go into the 2^nd with a 1-0 lead. Miami tied the game up, courtesy of Addison McLaren only 1:30 into the 2^nd and it went into the 3^rd tied 1-1. Addison McLaren would turn out to be the playoff hero, bagging himself a hat-trick to give Miami a 3-1, 4-0 series sweep and founders cup glory
