Claimed:Salvador Makes Playoffs with Yukon, Discusses Future Plans

Recommended Posts

The Yukon Rush finished the season with 54 wins and 11 losses, giving them the best record in the minor leagues.  Now they have a first round bye and await to see which opponent they will face in the semi-finals.  A late season surge that started when they picked up new defenseman Salvador on waivers helped guarantee that the Rush would run away with the lead they built themselves.  Building a team is never over though, and on the last day of the season the Rush picked up prodigy Mason Richardson to replace Kayl Kuzie for the playoff run.

Fans seem a bit worried around Yukon though, because as the team started to prepare for the playoffs; Salvador has been out advertising for a second job he has taken up.  He has officially announced that he will be starting a weekly radio show starting in Season 39.  The show will cover the VHLM as a whole, with the pro scene looked at along with Salvador's personal career moves and decisions.  Will this new development effect Yukon's chances in the post season?  We asked Yukon GM Austins Gow:

"We certainly hope not.  Before Salvador went on his advertising spree we made sure that he was going to be focused and ready for the playoff run.  He promised us that getting a second cup into Yukon is his number one priority and we respect and believe that that is the truth.  If his play starts to slip our team is deep enough that we will find someone to step up until he starts to get back into it.  Salvador is a very important piece to our team and we need everything out of him to win our next series."

Last night the Rush found out that they will face the Lynx in the semi-finals.  Led by Jack Ryan and Leo Tesla, the Lynx came out of the regular season with a 33-31-4 record.  They also went 3-4-1 against the Rush head-to-head.  The Rush know that they will be getting everything they can get because the coaches going up against each other are brothers.  Look forward to all the mind games the two may try t play o each other as the brothers from the City of Brotherly Love face off in the second round of the playoffs this week.  Salvador talked about the matchup versus the Lynx at a press conference:

Don Draper vs. Leo Tesla: Who Will Be the MVP?

"The Lynx should be a really good test for us to get to the Finals.  If we can beat them I don't see any problems with us moving through and winning our second cup.  The key is to shut down Leo Tesla as much as we can.  The guy is a playmaker with the puck and we need to keep his ice time presence as minimal as possible."

485 words. This was a nice look at the Rush and their march towards another cup. You also mentioned about a future podcast series, which should be a nice addition to the podcast world here in the VHL. This Media Spot had good structure and two excellent quotes.
