Guest
So, I'm here with the Miami Maraudres GM Ricer, happy to have you here and let's get onto the first question. So, the last season was full of up and downs for Miami, only just about getting into play-offs and then winning Founders cup with team full of waivers. Who would you say was the keypart of the run? I can not pin point our success to just only one person. The “Waiver Warriors” are a collective group of players who all joined Miami and committed themselves the their training and to each other as teammates. A few examples of those players would be Cabe McJake, Addison McClaren, Martin Masters and that’s only to name a few. It was a collective team effort that got us to the playoffs. Second question, who would you like to highlight for their progress in terms of playing abilities and even the personal side ( leadership etc. )? From an on ice standpoint I am most impressed with Cabe McJake. This kid is a maniac when it comes to improving his game. He has looked through every crook and cranny in the VHL to get every last hit of experience that he can and it is really translated to his play on the ice. This guy is going to be a star. Are you happy with this years draft? And do you have someone on your sheet for the next one though it's that early in the season? I feel really good about the draft. We were able to get some deals done that brought in some studs like returning members Cabe McJake, Nathan Perry and Martin Masters as well as new members Ryan Ryker and Thadius Sales. Then late in the draft we were able to acquire steals like Phoenix Dawson and JL Gunnar who are doing an excellent job earning since they’ve joined the team. Overall the draft was a success and as for the next draft I haven’t quite started scouting yet as the new season has just begun but can assure you that the scouting will start very soon. How well do you think will Miami perform this season? Who has the best team in the VHLM from your point of view? Miami is going to have an okay start to the season. We have some top end talent but our depth is working hard to catch up and when they do I think Miami is a top 3 team. As for who I think is the best looking team out of the gate I am going to have to say Philadelphia. It’s going to be a very competitive season as Yukon, Philly, San Diego, Saskatoon, Mexico and Miami all look to be good teams this season. It’s anyone’s game this point and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds. What do you say to the impressive run from Cabe McJake so far? Did you expext it from him and do you think he can keep up the momentum throughout the whole season? McJake is a machine and I am not surprised at all by the results he has shown. He will no doubt be a top 5 scorer this season and will absolutely be able to keep it up. Are there any big trades coming up or any free agents signings that you could tell us? We recently made a trade acquiring Bernov from Yukon, which we are thrilled about. I don't plan on making any more moves, but I will be looking to fill in some depth spots in our line up with waiver players as the season rolls on. Ok, that's unfortunately all the time we have. Thank you for your time and good luck. 618 words, 23.11.- 29.11. Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/95736-interview-with-miami-gm-ricer/ Share on other sites
Retuperkele 21
4/10 Good questions all around, unfortunately the effort to make this article appealing to the eye failed miserably. Needs some work on how to present your article. Ricer carried this one for you with his putout, maybe next time the person on the other end is not going to be able, if its as sloppy as this Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/95736-interview-with-miami-gm-ricer/#findComment-799575 Share on other sites
Ledge 1,131
Review: I love it when people interview each other, it really shows that some work is being put in. I like the bold and italics, but maybe if you straightened it out more it would be easier to read. 7.5/10 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/95736-interview-with-miami-gm-ricer/#findComment-799591 Share on other sites
youloser1337 1,124
Review: Good job with the interview. I think maybe a more robust intro would have been better. The mix of word colors is a bit distracting and odd. I think your questions led to great in-depth answers from Ricer so excellent work for that! The only question that was out of place was the trades question. I feel like that it reveals too much. That could just be me though. Overall this is a solid interview. Some minor tweaks and formatting and I think this could be perfect! 8.5/10!
