Toast 887
When Phoenix Dawson declared for the S76 VHL Entry Draft, there wasn't much hope for the prospect. Coming from the Toast Player Agency's recent line of failure players, it is surprising to see Dawson fairing so well in the start of his career. The 77th-overall draft pick in the VHLM Dispersal Draft to Miami quickly impressed management with dedication to improving his game and earned a spot on the team's second line despite the lack of practice hours so far. Dawson has been someone to hit the practice ice first during the week and seems to be one of the players dedicated to putting as many hours in as possible early into the season. 13 games into the season now, Dawson finds himself at an impressive 10 points but also tied for the lead in +/- for a Miami team that is trying to find a way to go back-to-back this season. "I'm going to do what it takes," said Dawson. "I want to show I deserve to be a high draft pick and I want to make sure that I'm giving Miami everything that I can on and off the ice." "Nobody expected me to make it through the first week in this league and I can't wait to show further how wrong they were."
