Askarov happy with start

Vsevolod Askarov sits 2-0-1 with picking up 5 out of 6 points he can for Calgary. With a 905sv% and 2.6 gaa, the stats do not jump out. However when you consider he is a rookie on a team currently streaky as Calgary has been it gives the totals a better context. 

 

The rookie netminder is still unclear on his future, Calgarys goalie is set for awhile and Askarov is not just happy sitting and waiting well lesser goalies are getting starting gigs. He will keep pushing, but when his contract is up. There will be a conversation about the future, of Askarov and Calgary.

 

For now he is soley focused on this season, as he is not used to such long waits between games after carrying Mississauga to the finals last season.
