As Season 38 ended for Quebec it felt as if time had stopped. 3 seasons removed from a Continental Cup, Quebec is now in a rebuilding phase where winning seems off in the distance. Now is the time for Quebec to make the right decisions for the right reasons. With the Season 39 draft on the horizon and the lack of a 1st round pick it will take some creativity and luck to garner much out of this draft aside from their high 2nd. Season 40 and Season 41 will be the most important drafts for the franchise as they will have all their picks and more from trades with Seattle and Riga.  Current GM Frank Chadwick has never been in this situation before. He took over Davos after a great run by Harvey Singh who built up a solid foundation that Chadwick simply added to. This time it will be up to him to build up a team that can contend. At this point the only sure fire future VHLers they possess are Brock Waldron and Aksel Thomassen. The hope is that they can now build off those two and form a core that is strong enough to compete for the cup.But no matter how the future plays out, right now the Meute franchise is looking pretty dismal and they'll have to hope that their loyal fans will stick it out.
