Midnite 69
"To say this season is going how I'd imagine it would is a lie..." Ricky Johnson wasn't shy in letting the media know where he stands. The veteran defenseman of the D.C. Dragons is having one of the worse seasons to date with only 22 points after 36 games played. Though not much was expected to come from Johnson, who had gone through quite the decline from the year prior, he wasn't expected to perform the way he has after coming off a season-high. Having now reached the halfway mark of the season, the D.C. Dragons are also looking a bit regressed themselves with a record of 15-15. Though a tied record is better than a losing one, the team struggles in putting shots behind the opposing goalkeepers with multiple games having outshot their opposition and still coming up with a loss. "It's funny to me that we've managed to go into games and have our best lines underperform and our other lines overperform. That kind of tells you the season we've been having. A lot of us who the team is depending on to kick it up a notch and get some wins aren't doing so. We need to turn things around. I need to turn things around. Until then, we'll remain stagnant..." Luckily for the D.C. Dragons, there's still plenty of time to turn things around with half the season still left to play. Upper management and the players themselves will need to figure out something during that time otherwise they may be looking at a post-season-less season this year.
