Slaeter Fjorsstrom skating with Riga last season.

The Dinamo Riga of the Kontinental Hockey League have offered Reign defenseman Slaeter Fjorsstrom a contract reportedly worth 5 million US dollars.  Fjorsstrom, who will be going into the last year of his contract when Season 39 commences.  When Season 39 kicks off, Fjorsstrom will be making 2.5 million after moving up a bracket due to an increase in Practice Hours.

"They have offered me a contract, but I haven't made a decision and will not make a decision until after Season 39.  I don't want to go back on my contract with the Reign.  Everyone's expecting me to stay with them for the rest of career, but there's no guarantees."

The Riga Reign will be looking to secure Fjorsstrom long term once Season 39 starts as they can't extend his contract until the final year of said contract.

"I haven't talked to management about it yet, but I know they're going to pick up the phone as soon as possible.  I'm pretty happy here, but that 5 million is awfully tempting."
