Jacques Lafon-FLAME?

CALGARY - Jacques Lafontaine was spotted sitting on the bench for Calgary in the Saddledome. That would be normal if it wasn’t for the fact that he was sitting on the bench for the other team in Cow Town, the Calgary Flames. This was confusing for a couple of fans, and to add to the confusion, he was wearing the number 1 instead of his usual 82. We caught up with Jacques Lafontaine to see what happened.

 

“No, no, I haven’t defected to the National Hockey League. Calgary Wranglers fans, and my teammates for that matter, don’t have to worry. The team just needed an emergency goaltender and I happened to be around the Saddledome, adjusting my gear and stuff. During the game, one of the goaltenders got injured and so I had to move to the bench. I didn’t have to play, which was probably for the best so I wouldn’t get too fatigued, but yeah.”
