I probably wouldn't have come back to the VHL if it wasn't for the locker rooms. Maybe I've been in the wrong locker rooms my entire life, but the VHL locker rooms have been amazing, and some of the best locker rooms I've been in. To be fair, I've probably only been in two of the best SBDL locker rooms, and I'm not really involved in SBA and EFL locker rooms, but seriously, the VHL minor locker rooms will be some of the things that I'll remember the most. I've commented before on how I've failed at building a good locker room in my SBA and SBDL GMing career, and I think that's really hurt me as a coach and as a GM. I know that this is something that I need to fix, but for now, I'm not in the good mental space or have the tools needed to fix that. For sure, I definitely need to fix it, and for sure, it's on the to do list, but I'm still grabbing the tools I need to tackle that and take care of the bigger needs in my life. With that said, the big advantage that I really like is that there are ton of SBA players in my locker. I know a lot of the people and that helps me stay active. The number of players in VHL teams really helps - in SBA there's really only like 8 spots on a team, and its rare to fill them all with active players. Sure, I can add in fillers, but there's something nice about having everyone having their main player (or in this case, their only player) in the minor leagues, so there's a lot of shared experiences. I've also felt that every single discord here is run by people who actually know how to use discords. I'm basically terrible with discord permissions and channel set up and bot set up, so that's something that I'll probably have to ask for help for soon, or learn myself. I also think it's possibly selection bias. I've been very blessed to have some great teams that I've been on, and that I've had great relationships with all of the GMs and some of the aGMs. Knowing that I can relate and talk to them always is a good fallback. There is a good chance that I'm not as great at that as I should be on my end. I'm sure that I can improve there, but if I'm looking at myself critically, I'm not sure if I come off as approachable. Anyway, long story short, I love VHL locker rooms. They are amazing, and one of the best experiences I've had.
