That Dude Talks 1st Playoff Experience

That Dude is a third-string center for the Saskatoon Wild who find themselves in a fight for their lives in the first round going up against the underdog Las Vegas Aces. Las Vegas was able to jump out to a 3-1 series lead, but Saskatoon with their backs against the wall, was able to steal Game 5. They will need to continue to play like that over the next two games if Saskatoon is to have any chance of advancing to the semifinals. 

 

"It's like been a good experience man. Nothing like postseason hockey to really get your blood flow going, you know? The regular season, I came in late so I was sort of like, acclimating to the game and to my teammates. Not like that eight games was much of an acclimation period but it's better than nothing though. I know that I definitely can do and play much better than I am right now. I just need to find my spots, win my faceoffs and be in position to make plays for myself or for others. That's all really. Las Vegas is playing on an whole another level, and we are starting to pick ourselves up and match their intensity. Nobody ever said that it was going to be easy, but I feel like we should be a better position than we are right now. It is what it is and we're going to move on and play better. It's either that or go home, right?"

 

In a recent VHL S77 Draft Class Ranking, That Dude was ranked fifth-best prospect. When asked about this, That Dude had some thoughts to share:

 

"Fifth? C'mon man, I'm clearly better than the four scrubs ahead of me. I guess I just have to go out there and prove it to everybody else once again. I clearly have no problem with that and I'm just going to have to go out there and play my hardest in the next two games to prove myself and redeem my draft stock. Anyways, I hear that the VHLM do their dispersal draft every year, so I'm really curious as to where I end up next year since it doesn't seem like Saskatoon will have a chance to keep me around. Really curious about that one. "
