Cup Hangover for Malmo

ESPN.SE - We're more than a few games into the season now and it's pretty clear that Malmo is suffering from a dreaded cup hangover. With just 3 wins from their first 11 games, they find themselves in the basement of the European Conference after having quite high hopes going into the season. Teams around them have continued to improve while it seems the Nighthawks have taken a step back after winning it all and they are going to have to really kick it into gear in order to turn this ship around if they want to be in a playoff spot come the end of the season. Offensively, things aren't looking terrible for Malmo, they have Hylands and Sheilds producing at over a point per game pace. But defensively they have struggled and it has cost them precious points in the standings. Looking at their results, many games were lost by only a goal so things have been close. Maybe some better puck luck and we would be writing a completely different article. Time will tell if the Nighthawks can figure things out.
