Jacques Lafontaine, number.... 47?

CALGARY - Jacques Lafontaine has decided to switch up his jersey number for the last portion of the season. Instead of the number 82 we’ve been used to seeing throughout his time in the Victory Hockey League. He decided that it was time for a change. Instead of his 82, he is going to wear the number 47 on the back of his jersey.

 

“Oh yeah, I just thought it might help my luck. I mean, I love the number 82 but I think it’s about time I change. I just asked what numbers were available. I decided to go with 47 because I thought it looked cool. I don’t really have much of an attachment to it, I just liked how it looked on my jersey. Besides, I’ve seen goalies wear it in the National Hockey League. I also went with it because it’s a relatively uncommon number. There are many 30s, many 33s, heck, even many 29s if I’m being honest but 47 and 82 are pretty uncommon, the latter rarely seen on even players.”
