The 18-year-old centre is eligible for the upcoming S45 VHL Entry Draft and is currently projected to be a mid second round pick after spending most of the past season with the VHLM's Brampton Blades. Regarded as a defensive centre, Deschamps tallied a respectable 36 points in 46 regular season contests with the Blades before tying for the team lead in points with five in the team's first round loss to the Yukon. While Deschamps may be showing interest in the KHL, VHL teams have little to be concerned about right now as sources say no organization in the league has any interest in Deschamps at this time.
