  1. Cooper Supernaw- VHLM Draftee/Prospect
  2. VHLM SCOUTING Initial Prospect Evaluation Date: 09/25/2015 Player Information First Name: Cooper Last Name: Supernaw. Position: Goaltender Born: 1-1-94 Shoots: R//Catches: L Jersey Number: 1(# changed from 32) Height (ft.): 6' 5" Weight (lbs.): 209 Birthplace: Smallville,IN. USA Basis of this evaluation. This evaluator watched over 25 game films on this prospect and the following strengths are apparent. Supernaw is a big goalie with strong fundamentals and covers a great portion of the net easily. Strength: (3) 1.Rebound Control, 2.Reaction Time, 3.Style Control 1. Rebound Control. His ability to control rebounds is a direct result of his 'classic' Butterfly fundamentals. His drops are amazingly quick and his large frame allows him to cheat and get away with an early drop on shooters. He smothers shots easily to deny any second chance opportunities. I was surprised that this prospect repeatedly was able to angle shots to safe areas where his out of position defenseman could easily transition to start an offensive rush. 2. Reaction Time. For a large framed goalie his reaction time is exceptional. As previously stated Supernaw is able to get into a full Vee drop very quickly. Lightning quick. I can't count the numerous replays from the game films that showed his five hole coverage was exceptional on both point blank shots and high traffic deflections. He possesses both a quick glove hand and a strong blocker side that are essential if he is to compete and be a dominate force at the VHL level. 3. Style Control. Style control on this prospect was also a strength. Positioning is very sound, with excellent recognition of limiting shooting angles. Excellent side to side movement in the crease. He never slouches as is the usual flaw in large framed Butterfly style goalies. Does still utilize the 'Paddle down' technique and he does show good command of the posts of his net offering very little open for short side opportunities. One game tape in particular showed a forty shot OT game. That particular game was a second game of a back to back weekend series. Supernaw was strong throughout and showed incredible core strength and near text book style making saves to both blocker and glove side that entire game, and in every game I watched for this evaluation. He is well practiced and fluid in using his larger frame and long arms to fullest extent in covering the upper corners of the net. Weakness: (2) 1.Skating, 2.Puck Handling 1. Skating. When outside the crease it's apparent this goalie has spent little time on improving his skating. A comparison to his skating would be to place a baby giraffe on the ice. Power skating lessons are a necessity for this prospect in order to compete for a VHL team. 2. Puck Handling. Though not as glaring a flaw as his skating ability he could definitely benefit from more passing drills and several weeks of goalie stick handling class this would remove any bad habits starting to form. Recommendation. This prospect appears to be a quick learner and it is obvious that the lessons taught to him have been retained and mastered. Recommend a tryout and immediate signing. This Supernaw is a solid 4 star prospect and with coaching and development time a potential franchise goalie. (560+)
  3. Just wanted to say 'Hello' to you all. I'm new to this site, I'd like to try this as a goalie ..I know, you're thinking ..Another Damn Goalie?!?...Jeeez!! You probably get a lotta those here every week. But, I promise to be around and do my best to update/ train regularly so "Superman" Supernaw isn't permanently called "Sieve" or "Suxman" If you check my player profile I'm trying to be a bigger goalie , so I don't know if your sim makes that harder to do or not..Guess I'll find out. Thanks for reading this ~Cooper Supernaw aka.'Killjoy'
