Hey guys, life has gotten extremely busy for me lately and you may have noticed my activity has suffered as a result. Just letting all teams know for the next few weeks I will probably be virtually inactive as well. I'd like to come back when things get quieter but I wouldn't be comfortable promising i'll definitely come back either. Ashton Galbraith - I guess I have a bit of a rivalry going with Wolf. We're both right wings who are pretty much battling each other for the #2 ranked spot. He has a lot of past experience and prestige on his side but it kind of motivates me to beat him a bit more. Playing on the same team was interesting as well, battled each other for points lead most of the year where eventually I overtook him right at the end. If it's a rivalry I’d describe it as a friendly one as he's a nice guy and I don't have anything bad to say about him.

Part 2: The Case Against Better Filler Players (but probz a different title)

I don't think that adding a small amount of TPE to computer players changes anything with parity or is a good idea in general. As I've said before, the talent disparity is a result of a few teams each season being able to load up their draft picks for a single year and collect all of the VHLM talent. Adding a couple of 25 or 50 TPE players to the bottom feeding teams does nothing to address the balance of power in the VHLM.

No a handful of mediocre filler players isn't going to change the balance of power in the VHLM but that isn't the point i'm aruging for, and realistically I don't think these filler players would have any real effect on the "balance of power" at all seeing as every team would have them. Standings wise they shouldn't make any difference, a team loaded up with high picks will still finish first and a team without any will still finish last.

Parity might not be the best term to describe what I believe these filler guys might achieve. In terms of team records we're leaning towards the end of one extreme, that being some teams being unbeatable and some being incapable of winning (the other extreme being every team going .500). I think being too far towards one extreme is a bad thing and that moving towards a middle ground between extreme parity and extreme disparity would be a positive for the league. 

Thing is, is there are like 2 active goalies out there. I could try for a DMan for sure though.

Yea I know, i'm not blaming you or anything, tough when there's literally two decent goalies in the entire league haha. I guess all we can really hope for is to score a goalie off the waiver wire and get lucky.

I think we're still a goalie and Dman or two away from being right up there as THE elite team.

Oh i've definitely heard Thrift Shop... it was our intramural teams theme song for hockey. Obviously we stepped all over the ice to it because who actually wants to warm up when you could just step.
