Greatest Comedy! Love the choice of name. We would love to have you for the remainder of the season playing for the Miami Marauders. We must have the greatest drummer of all time on our roster.

Good morning Reaper Nation ! This may be some of your first time in the press in Philly , let the fans get to know some more about you !

Answer ALL 6 Question to claim 2 TPE :)

    1)    Welcome to the Philadelphia Reapers! What do you think it means to be a Reaper?
    2)    Describe your draft day experience.
    3)    How has your offseason training been going? What is the weirdest workout you do?
    4)    Do you have any special requests for your locker setup?
    5)    As part of the pre-game hype, our Reaper mascot slaughters the opposing team’s mascot. We’re looking for new, inventive ways to eliminate their mascot. What’s your suggestion?
    6)    Philadelphia is a historic city with a ton of things to do. What are you most excited about doing with your time in Philly?

    1) Thanks! Means a lot, this is a franchise with active staff and motivated players, means a lot that they signed me this fast.

    2) Woke up, had breakfast, trained, lunch with my dad, trained some more in the afternoon, watched a movie in the evening and went to sleep. I guess I should mention I didn't declare for the draft.

    3) Training's been good, had some great improvement on my skating and puck handling a bit. Ross Rhea, a friend of my father's, showed me this weird workout where you just punch the &@%! out of a wall.

    4) Not at all, I'm not a needy guy for my locker.

    5) To keep up with the trends and keep the fans entertained, I don't know about the way to eliminate the mascot, but a coffin dance with the dead mascot would be hilarious.

    6) Eating a philly cheesesteak and visiting the Liberty Bell for sure.

  3. Jack Ogilvey's junior review

Born and raised in Halifax to legendary captain Gord Ogilvey of the Halifax Highlanders  (See above picture), Jack was exposed to the hockey life early in his life. Fascinated by the unbreakable bond of his father's team, he values teamwork at an early age, on and off the ice.

His father was not the most skilled player on the ice, but his hockey IQ made him an interesting playmaker, and that's what Jack inherited from him on the ice in the first place. Playing as a Pee-Wee, he prefers crafty plays and spot on passes than shooting like most of his teammates. His true potential shows in how many goals he assisted for his team, and how he retains a higher plus/minus than every player on his team. He shines in the Quebec International Pee-Wee hockey tournament,  and gathers attention from scouts.

He spends all of his younger career in Halifax, until the day he is eligible to play in the QMJHL. One of his scouting report reads "A high IQ defenceman who has eyes all over the ice. He is as comfortable in a power play as a quarterback defenceman, as well as on a penalty kill to lead the defence. Need to train his shot and skating to become a more complete defenceman."

He is drafted early in the third round by the Baie-Comeau Drakkars, who believe he could become a top 2 defenceman in a year or two for them. In his first year, Jack records 8 goals, 41 assists and a +39 differential in 60 games. However, Jack doesn't show much improvement in his second year. Rumors are that the lack of training staff and equipment in the small town, and Ogilvey opts to polish his defensive play instead of developping other hockey skills. Slightly unhappy with his development, he asks to be traded closer to his hometown, which the Drakkar agree to. He is traded to the Halifax Mooseheads, much to his delight, and his father's. He spends the season working hard with the Mooseheads and with his father,  even playing with the Highlanders in practice. Jack ends his third season in the QMJHL with 14 goals, 51 assists, and a +45 differential.

Due to his late breakout season, Ogilvey prefers waiting after the draft to pursue his career in the VHLM, to see if he can gauge some interest. He gets offers from the Mississauga Hounds and the Philadelphia Reapers. After some thoughts, he signs with the Reapers, ready to launch his career in the VHLM, and eventually his ultimate goal : The VHL.

Other teams may make offers to you. Take your time, consider your options and pick the team that’s best for you.

I’m the GM of the Philadelphia Reapers, we play a brand of hard nose hockey as evidenced by our strong defense and dead opponents.
