Maximilien Gaudreau is a French-Canadian player born in Val d'or, Québec. He started playing hockey when he was 3 in his hometown. Soon, his coaches realized that he had a very good potential. Obviously, they spent most of their time training him. When he was 9, he was playing with guys that were 2 years older than him. However, he managed to finish top 5 in the league in scoring. His favourite team growing up was the Calgary Wranglers. His biggest dream was the be drafted into the VHL. At school Maximilien was very humble. Everybody knew him but he didn’t like to be the center of attention. Eventually everything would change.
At his 15th birthday, his family moved in a city closer to border called Sherbrooke. He started High-School. At the beginning, he was pretty much the same guy however, he started to realize that he had the talent to go pro. So, while he was doing great during games, his grades were falling a lot. His parents were worried about this, and they decided to hire a private tutor to help him. It turned out that the tutor was a big hockey fan so while they were studying, they were talking about the VHL. He enjoyed and learned a lot of things during his session with the private tutor. Because of that, his grade went up again after a couple of weeks.
In his freshman season, he recorded 95 points in 22 games and his team went 21-1. In the playoffs, they were eliminated in final after a big game. He was very pissed at the result, and during the summer, he practiced almost everyday his hands, his shoot and he went at the gym to become stronger. At the beginning of his sophomore season, he was named captain of the team. His effort during the summer ended up paying at the end of the season where he would score 108 points in 22 games. His team went 22-0 it was a new record for his school. That same year, he went back to the final and he won in overtime after coming back from a 3-1 deficit in the third. He went back at school as a hero. After those 2 crazy seasons, he decided that he wanted to play in a bigger league than his high-school one. He met with a few teams in the VHLM and decided that his professional career would start
Miami. Now he is a 17 years old rookie in the VHLM.
