In the blink of an eye, C.J. Daniels' VHLM career came to an abrupt end as the Las Vegas Aces eliminated the Saskatoon Wild 4-1 in the second round of the playoffs. It was a bitter moment for Daniels, who had hoped to lead the Wild to a championship. Unfortunately, the stars didn’t align for him this time. However, there is a silver lining. Daniels now joins the Seattle Bears, the reigning VHL champions, who recently clinched their first VHL Cup in over three years with a dominant 4-1 victory over the Riga Reign. Daniels is eager for the opportunity to contribute to a team that’s already tasted championship glory and hopes to help them defend their title in the coming season. As Daniels puts it, “I’m really excited to be part of this team, especially with the morale so high after winning the Cup. Who knows what we can achieve moving forward? But for now, it’s time to hit the off-season training and get ready for what’s next.”

After enduring years of struggles, this win is nothing short of monumental for the franchise. Now, down 3-1 to the formidable Las Vegas Aces, the Wild face elimination, but they’re far from giving up. A comeback would be another historic achievement, but even if they don’t pull through, this season is already a success. The Wild, a young team that has weathered criticism and hardship, have shown they’re capable of greatness. Their triumph over the Marlins has earned them a rightful place in the VHLM headlines and serves as a historic turning point of the organization’s long-awaited resurgence. The playoffs are here, and the Saskatoon Wild are set to make their debut on the biggest stage in the VHLM. In Round 1, they’ll face the San Diego Marlins, a team they’ve battled with all season. The Wild finished the regular season with a 33-31 record, well above .500, and made a significant leap in their offense, scoring 130 goals—doubling last season’s total. They’re entering the postseason with plenty of momentum, but the Marlins are the top team in the Western Conference for a reason. Defence will be critical in this matchup, with Tuomala and Sandstrom tasked with containing the Marlins' offensive threats, including Jerry Box, Cardinal Copia, Ender, and others. Offensively, the Wild have been dynamic, boasting two players with over 50 goals/assists on the season. With the bright lights of the playoffs on them, C.J. Daniels is ready to take on the challenge and lead his team forward to victory.
