Devise 4,475
The Las Vegas Aces decided to make a trade to acquire the 10th overall selection in the S77 VHLM Dispersal Draft, with it they selected defender Sven Reikkinen. Sven was the first of 9 players drafted for a Vegas took that was clearly looking to stock up the team coffers heading into S77. The lone exception was late pick Reylnn Reinhart who is already more than eligible to play in the VHL next season. I wasn't totally expecting Sven to go in the first round, but seeing where the TPE levels are across the board for a lot of the draft selections the reality of team need/fit meaning so much more than it used to really hit home. I'm happy to of been selected in the first though, and Sven will be tasked with leading a offensive minded defense core. In general, Vegas is looking like more of a speed/scoring team as we don't have any players who have really invested in checking. Interestingly enough, Sven is actually the best rated scoring player on the roster with 77 scoring thus far. We have three other players with 70 at the moment. Given I'm trying to build Sven as a power play goal scoring specialist it really seems he found the ideal home to try his hand at doing what he "could" be good at this season in the VHLM. I'm looking forward to seeing what this Las Vegas group can do as the VHLM goes forward, and who knows...maybe we have a big trade in us for a huge playoff/contention push if things go well.
