The plan all along for the Mississauga Hounds was to build a team that would compete for the cup in S77, and so far, that seems to be working out as expected.

The Hounds are first in the VHLM with a 14-1-0 record through 15 games and have a deep lineup up and down consisting of some solid prospects from the last couple of VHL drafts like Miles Johnson, Guy Lambert, Davey Jones Jr, Elvis Michael, Gustislav Nasherov, Joe Madison, and Miks Sunish, some big names for the upcoming S78 draft like Tynan Sylvester and Hard Markinson, and some solid VHLM veterans like Owen Taylor and Luke Spinelli.

They have the league's second-best offense with 62 goals for and by far the league's best defense with just 28 goals against (the next closest has 37).

They've also just made a big move to add Gaspar Zakrevsky, a VHLM veteran with 160 career points in 232 career games. He's exploded with the Yukon Rush this season, putting up 34 points in 16 games so far, including 18 goals. He comes to the Hounds in exchange for Brighton Grisby, Inunnguaq Kiak, and a 3rd round pick in S78, adding another offensive star to a team with a lot of talent.

Lambert, Nasherov, Taylor, and Angel Wachiure are all producing at a better-than-PPG clip while Spinelli, who was one of the VHLM's better netminders last season, is looking even better so far this year with a .913 SV% and 1.86 GAA.

The Hounds are hoping they can keep this strong play going throughout the season and establish themselves as a top-tier team at the VHLM level.
