The Wild off to a hot start

The Saskatoon Wild are now sitting on top of the Eastern Conference after a 2-0 shutout victory over the Houston Bulls. The Wild are one of the hottest teams in the VHLM at the moment and are only behind the Mississauga Hounds who are 4 points ahead of them in the VHLM standings. à

The one thing that has helped the Wild become a top team is their high scoring offense who has been near or at top of the VHLM all season long. The team has two players that are on the leagues top 10 scorers list with Duncan Montana and Griff Mackenzie both tied for fourth with 28 points. That wouldn't be possible without the help they've been getting from their backend as David Tavau and Nixon Caldwell are amongst the league top 5 defenders in points. The special teams have also been dependable with the powerplay sitting 3rd in the league with a 24% success rate and their penalty kill sits 5th with a 81.76% success rate. The Seabasstard has also helped the team by winning draws as he currently leads the league with his 64.75 % faceoff win rate.

It seems like the Wild are doing everything right but an issue for the team in the past has been consistency and even though they've started the year hot they'll have to keep winning to prove that they are serious contenders this year.
