21st overall pick from the prior VHLM Draft, Arvid Johansson, has been making some major waves at the start of the season, as the young defenseman has been lights out for the San Diego Marlins. He is currently point per game 17 games into the season, with 8 goals and 9 assists to his game thus far. As a defenseman who claims to follow a defense first offense second brand of hockey, these numbers are especially impressive for him to be racking up as a rookie this early in his career. After a rocky start to his VHLM journey last season, where he only got 1 point in 12 games with the Halifax 21st, Johansson this season has managed to show critics and scouts his potential that was spoken about before the draft. He will surely be catching the eyes of VHL scouts with these recent performances, but obviously there is still a lot of the season left for him to maintain this level of form. We will just have to see if Johansson can continue to wow the league like he has done.
