There is disappointment in Riga.  Recently the Reign was a mere 1 point out of the playoffs.  After the last games however, they have slipped to last place in the European Conference and, in fact, the entire VHL.  This is a cause for concern and bewilderment for the whole team as there should be no way that such a talent-laden team should fail to develop the chemistry necessary to at least make the playoffs.  There is some urgency in the Locker Room as the trade deadline approaches and, of course, there is still hockey to be played.  If the current trend continues, it is feared that the Reign will be on the outside looking in.

I swear Morale plays a bigger factor than some think.  I observed Calgary's throughout every season and it seemed like once you start losing, its like a domino effect and it is very difficult to come out of the spiral. So if you get unlucky losses for 10 games or so,  you land in a rut. At which point sths will just continue to punish you in the most cruel and unfair of ways.

 Just imo
