With just two games left to play in the S77 VHLM regular season, the Miami Marauders have a firm grip on third overall in the standings and look set to begin their postseason campaign.

Their opponent in the first round? That's a question that will be decided later today, when the VHLM regular season comes to a conclusion, although four teams look to be in the running for a date with the Marauders.

"We will be up against a good hockey team. It doesn't matter which one we face, we know that we have the talent to win, it's just about showing it over a best-of-seven series," Marauders defenseman Jan Hlozek said on Wednesday.

The Czech blueliner missed out on the playoffs last season as a member of the Saskatoon Wild, but Hlozek said that his experience from his junior career should hold him in good stead.

"I've won championships in the Czech Republic before. I know what it's like to play in the playoffs, just not in the VHLM. I'm confident that I can show what I can do," he commented.

Hlozek has so far registered 62 points through 70 regular season VHLM games this past season, beating his S76 total.
