We caught up with DC Dragons Maksim Yakolevsky after the Dragons had just ended their regular season with a loss to the Seattle Bears. Yakolevsky had arrived in DC after having parted ways with the London United where he had spent his first season in the pros. “The offseason was quite chaotic, that’s for sure. I enjoyed being in London, but I knew that due to my limitations as a player I would be the first one to go if the cap got close. Well it happened, but I somehow got “traded” to Moscow despite being a free agent….of sorts? Then did not get signed there and thankfully landed here in DC.” Throughout the season, Yakolevsky showed some improvement, but still leaves a lot to be desired. “Honestly, if you ask me if I provided positive value to the team then I would not know what to answer you. I am not a huge voice in the locker room, I am neither the most talented nor the most hardworking guy on the team. I guess if the GM wants me to stick around that speaks for itself? But I don’t know how much value I will be able to provide before my time is up.”
