After suffering defeat at the hands of the Helsinki Titans, London United forward The Terrible Trivium did what every player has to do at the end of their season: clean out his locker. For Trivium, it was clearly an emotional experience.

“I thought we had what it takes to win it all this season,” Trivium told the assembled reporters. “We made some huge trades in the offseason to bring in Tonner and Lahts, saw a lot of development in our guys this year, and still we came up short.” Trivium set new personal best numbers in assists, points, and plus/minus, and tied his career high in goals with 41. “Ultimately, I wasn’t good enough,” he continued. “I’ve got some soul searching to do. Some reflection. I’m not the youngest guy in this league anymore, and I don’t know how much time I really have left where I can contribute without being a burden on my linemates, the guys in the room, and the fans.”

When asked what comes next for him, he answered, “I have a lot of free time all of a sudden, so I’m going to head to Japan for a bit. Visit with Itoh-chan. Haven’t seen her since before the playoffs started. Maybe take in a game or two while I’m over there. There’s some kid playing in one of the domestic Japanese leagues that is supposed to be some sort of defensive badass. It would be pretty neat to see a player from a place like Japan make it to this level and have an impact.”
