WHAT'S THE WEATHER LIKE IN SWITZERLAND

WHAT ARE WE DOING IN DAVOS AFTER ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP THIS SEASON?

 

The HC Davos Dynamo are off to a somewhat slow start this year, but there really is no doubt they will win another championship. So we look to the S39 off-season for the next serious action. How will the Dynamo perfectly navigate through another off-season?

 

Here are the obstacles they face with continued success:

 

- Pending Free Agents: C Davey Jones, C Naomi Young, D Matt Bentley, D Godavari Yumalatopinto

 

The above players make up a good part of the core of HC Davos, and they will need to do their best to bring each of them back for another season.  If they cannot bring back at least 3 of these players back, they could be in trouble.

 

- Aging: Bringing all of the above players back, 7 of their players will be in the veteran status. Depreciation could have a bit of strong effect on Davos. On the other hand, it will help with their salary cap situation as it will save approx $500K per player.

 

- Lack of Defense: they only have 2 defenders on their team this year, with those 2 players being potential free agents this upcoming off-season.

 

Regardless, Davos probably rolls and Moher finally supersedes 92% save percentage.
