It seems the early season slump is a running gag for Justin Lose. At this point with only 7 games played, he only has 1 goal and 3 assists for 4 points. This is when he finally got his chance to have first line minutes as promised in his contract when he re-signed. He is also currently a -10 with a .39 points per 20 minutes. Something isn't clicking for Justin Lose on the top line. Line teammates Cabe McJake and Addison McLaren are doing a lot better in the scoring department. McJake leads the team in points with 4 goals and 4 assists for 8 points with a -5 and .75 points per 20 minutes.
If his teammates are scoring, why is Lose struggling? He leads the team in shots with 51 which hurts his shot% at 1.96% which is one of the lowest on the team. He is taking the shots, but is it quality shots? Quality over quantity is something the Riga coaches will have to teach Lose during the season. In those 7 games Riga has played, Riga has yet to win a single game. Their only 2 points came from the first two games which were shootout losses.

"Early on in the season everyone is just getting used to each other. Our goalie rotation for the first few games is just testing the waters to see who we are going to run with. Obviously we haven't done Sovick Jr any favors when he starts. He deserves more credit for how much pressure it is to jump into the net when you just made it to the roster last season. We are hoping to steal some games while we find that starter." - Lose on early season woes

"My performance is not okay. I'm doing my best to be on the ice and work some magic. Obviously that magic is hurting the team. I will definitely have to take a look at myself going forward. It's getting into my head during high pressure moments. That is something I need to work on in the future. I'm glad my line mates are doing well. I hope I can be that rock as we move on in the season and we can finally all click together and do some damage." - Lose on his early season performance

With the season still young, the Riga squad is also looking for their starter. Calvin Harvey has been shaky the past 2 seasons and with his announcement that he is retiring at the end of the season was a complete shock to the team. Matthew A Sovick Jr has been manning the net for the first few games and has done respectable. With the threat of Harvey leaving at the end of the season, is this going to be the test for Sovick Jr to take over as the starter next season? A lot is going on at the start of the season and lots of storylines too. With 7 of the 72 games played anything can happen. Stay tune for Riga Gameday!

Review: Nice job on this media spot bud. It's laid out really well so it's super easy to read. You also get a really good sense of what Lose is like which is really good. Maybe next time, you could put your players quotes in bold or italics just to make that bit easier to read. Overall, good job!
