Donny Carter Interview on the VHLE (THEME WEEK)

Smith: Welcome back to the show Donny!

Carter: It's always a pleasure!

Smith: So, the recent news on the VHLE is very intriguing isn't it Donny?

Carter: It's great that Europe is getting included in the VHL player development, and it also means that guys who aren't ready for the VHL don't have to be ready and can go hang out in Europe for a while. As an American that's really cool because I've never been able to spend a lot of time in Europe, and that experience could be really fun.

Smith: Any places you've been looking to go in particular?

Carter: Honestly Italy seems pretty cool, if there's a team in Paris that would be nice as well.

Smith: Ah, the city of love?

Carter: Nah, city of pastries. I would love to be able to have some fresh baked sweets after a workout.

*Smith laughs for too long*

Smith: That's true, you know I've been to Paris once.

Carter: Really? Why?

Smith: Vacation. Got to see some pretty amazing stuff. It's a beautiful city. Anyway, do you think you'll be playing in the VHLE?

Carter: Honestly I still don't really understand the whole system yet, or when it will be implemented. I know I am preparing for the VHL Draft and getting ready for mid-season interviews, so I think i'll need to focus on that and also my season before I focus on the VHLE, but it is a very cool concept and I like that it is being implemented.

Smith: That makes a lot of sense Donny, and I'm very interested to see where your career goes. Until next time!

Carter: See you next time Joe! Thanks for having me!

*Show theme song plays as it cuts to commercial. Commercials play for random toilet paper and juice. Show opens back on the studio where it's just Joe now*

Smith: Now a little more on the VHLE. There are no confirmed teams in the league yet, but there are several who many think are basically confirmed. Vasteras, Cologne, and Bratislava all have a history of some kind in the VHL, and now will get a chance to return to the league. The way development will work will have players going from the VHLM to the VHLE before making the big leagues. It should be interesting to see young stars now lighting up two leagues to make a big impression on the VHL GMs before they get to the majors. It's going to be very interesting to see what other teams will be in the European league. Personally I'm hoping for Paris, Rome, maybe one in Switzerland, and one in Norway perhaps? I'm just excited for all the speculation that's happening, and also excited for all the new stuff coming to the VHL! I thought you did as good as possible with a interview based media spot, adding in music ques and the random commercial about toilet paper and juice. As the wording as not spades out it was kind of hard to read, but overall good job. Possibly a headshot or picture or the player would help the article as well
