The Berlin Wall

Recommended Posts

The league announced recently it would be adding a new league, basically its own version of the American Hockey League. This league would be centered around european nations. They asked us to think about names and locations for teams. Well i may not have the coolest name, Berlin Germany should certainly be a location to consider. The rising in the countries development of star NHL players, men like Draisital, Seider, Peterka, Riechal, Grubauer, and Stuzle. It would be foolish not to attempt to draw more German players to the VHL.

Having a team located in the heart of Germany, would be a huge boost especially after the VHL left Germany awhile back, just before the boom of German hockey. The Wall as they will be called, pays homage to the history of the city. Once surrounded by the strong walls, the Berlin team would hope to put up the wall against opponents. The city is a perfect location, and due to its boom in German products, would mean that unlike Colonge this franchise should stand the test of time.

The Berlin team would host hockey out of the Germany hockey teams arena the Mercedes benz arena. This arena has history, and has seen many titles won inside of it. They hope 2 teams can make it even more titles, keeping the great momentum going, more parties the better. A rabbid growing fan base, hungry for even more hockey.

The teams logo, would of course be a small picture, of a wall sporting goalie equipment. Well this logo may seem very silly, the team hopes a silly mascot will draw in more young kids, in hopes they can continue to grow the game of hockey in Germany. The country is hungry to grow into a hockey power, a major north american league making the jump back to German may very well be the kicker they need to grow the game their even more.

The teams jersey, will be very simple but clean, think the Detroit Red Wings, except with Orange, and Black. On the shoulders they would proudly fly the German flag. Its unclear this time if the league will be like many other european league, with sponsorship all over the Jersey, but its very simplistic style leaves lots of real estate for the team to put all kinds of sponsor on it if the league choose to go that way. Germany is a proud nation, and one that well it has a checkered past, is ready to put itself center stage in the world of hockey. The VHLE should one hundred percent, make sure they bring a team to this beautiful country. Let's help bring this country back into the international spotlight when it comes to hockey.

Only time will tell just what teams come to this league, what kind of players will make their careers legendary here. However, Berlin hopes to be one of those cities chosen and to bring many legends into the VHL lore books for the ages.

YES! Love how you not only picked the location but gave reasons why AND also layed out jerseys and the logo. The logo idea is great and good job with coming up with that. Only improvement is indenting your paragraphs :) 9/10

9/10, I agree with the comment above, I think that it was great that you added in reasons why you think they should have a team. It all really does make sense. As a German myself I do agree that German hockey is booming and def should get themselves a VHLE team. Great layout for the post too. jersey and logo sound clean too! well done.

Expanding is always a positive. It gives people who didn't cut it at one level a chance to revamp their career somewhere else. Personally I think it's a fantastic idea and should be looked into more if more players come through. 10/10!!
