“It is a nice accomplishment for the team that we ended up winning the best overall record and home ice advantage throughout the playoffs, but we definitely cannot take any team lightly and hope we do need to go to a game 7 at home.  You don’t play though for regular season championships but in the end, all players want the league championship and that’s what we want in Yukon.  The team was built to win and we added some nice depth as the season went along and can use that to our advantage as the playoffs go along.”

 

“Mexico City is a tough matchup for us and a team that isn’t going to lie down and just let us roll over them in the first round.  We have to take them seriously as they did beat a couple of times during the season and just beat us right before the end of the season so they are coming into this series with momentum and the confidence that they can beat us.  Our players have to up our game to another level during the playoffs and our leaders have to set the tone in game 1.  Take it shift by shift and play Rush hockey and in the end hope for the best result and move onto the next round.”
