JB123 728
The Yukon Rush punched their ticket to the Season 78 Founder’s Cup Final yesterday with a 4-2 Game 6 win over the San Diego Marlins. The Rush previously defeated the Mexico City Kings in Round 1, 4-1. Right wing Tyler Reinhart had a hat trick in the Game 6 victory for the Rush. Reinhart leads Yukon in goals and points these playoffs, with 8 and 16. Gaspar Zakrevsky also scored; his third of the postseason. Papa Emeritus made 15 saves for the Rush, who could win their first Founder’s Cup since Season 59. They will play the Minnesota Storm in the final. Minnesota swept both the Saskatoon Wild in Round 1 and Houston Bulls in the semifinals. The Storm last won in Season 73. They are led this season by defenders Ron World Peace III and Zarek Kaczka, as well as by goaltender Dexter Vaughn. Their forward core includes the likes of Henri le Massif, Raihan Heavems, Gary Tarantino II, Miks Sunish and Jonathan Ori. Rush captain Nathan Powers had this to say about the final: “We know it’s going to be tough. Minnesota’s a very good team and there’s a reason they’re 8-0 in the playoffs. I know we’ve got it in us to win, it’s going to be a group effort for sure.” Game 1 is scheduled for today.
