When we look at a player like Armani Calamari we see a player that has a lot of potential and upside but might need a lot of seasoning before he truly reaches that potential. A center from Toronto Canada, he has spent a waiver season on the Philadelphia Reapers where he was used very sparingly. However it seems like he has treated his waiver season as a learning experience and did not let his lack of playing time get to him. As said by Armani himself to us at Daily Toronto Sports:

"It's all about learning and growing. Some players might not like just having that kind of experience, but I love it. The coaches and players helped me learn new techniques and I feel like I have grown a ton thanks to that. I would love to go back to Philadelphia and play with a lot of the same guys but if I end up somewhere different that would be alright as well. But I feel like I am growing to the point where I feel like I am becoming more then just a 4th line center and I am very much looking forward to more experiences and playing time"

While it definitely seems like where he plays does not matter much in the long run, he has expressed some desire to play a bit closer to home and has definitely considered a Canadian team like the Hounds a possibility. Another quote from the man himself:

"Now look I do not dislike the time I spent in America. But there is a part of me that missed Canada and more specifically Toronto. As a local Toronto boy who was born in Alberta, it would be nice to have more time closer to my family. Plus I really missed that true Canadian Madelyn syrup. My father especially missed me since he was single for most of the time I spent in Philadelphia though he has since gotten a new girlfriend who is actually extremely nice."

Recently it appears that Armani has been doing a lot of training in preparation for his first full VHLM season. He has been working on his skills as a Center in the gym and thinks he is ready to be at least a 3rd of maybe even 2nd line talent. Again we have a quote from him:

"Do not think that just because it is the offseason that I will just slack off. Being the best is not about that, it is about working and getting better all the time. I hope that with the work I am doing that I can be at the very least a 3rd line talent. Heck, maybe even a 2nd line talent. All I am asking for is a chance to be great and I hope that chance is coming up soon. My eyes are on the prize, and I am ready for it all"

Well these quotes certainly seem to indicate that he is ready for the upcoming draft. While we currently do not have a timetable for the draft, rest assured we will be watching where he goes closely.
