S79 VHL Entry Draft Excitement For Young Goaltender:

As we all sat down on Sunday July, 18th, 2021 for the VHL Entry Draft no one knew what would come for the hopeful players looking to get drafted to the VHL. As everyone had expected Papa Emeritus went 1st Overall in the draft and a huge congratulations goes out to him from everyone here. Our story today however is about an unexpected draftee who came into the VHLM late in S78 and made waves with his play in only 8 games going 6-1-1, Alex Parise now playing for the Ottawa Lynx of the VHLM.

Alex had very little time to show his talent this past season but wasted no time with his opportunities between the pipes. He showed he can be a solid go to between the pipes. His play in the short time he had last season impressed quite a few teams in the VHLM, one of which was the Ottawa Lynx which drafted him 16th overall in the VHLM Dispersion Draft. We reached out to Mr. Parise for a comment and he said “I’m excited to be going to Ottawa, I see a lot of potential with the team and management ”.

What no one expected to come out of today was Alex being drafted 21st overall in the VHL Entry Draft to the Calgary Wranglers. Simply an amazing outcome for this young talented goaltender, I can assure you everyone here was ecstatic when we heard the news that teams in the VHL had seen his potential and decided to draft him. We could see in this young man's face that he was excited to hear his name called at the draft and especially to a team like the Wranglers. We reached out for a comment but Alex was busy calling family and friends letting them know the news.

What will become of this young VHL hopeful, we foresee another season in the VHLM with the Ottawa Lynx at least before we see him between the pipes in the VHL. However, like this young Goaltender has already done he could surprise everyone at training camp and earn himself a spot on the starting roster backing up Calgary’s Carter Bellamy. Alex has shown that he shouldn’t be underestimated in his ability to show what he’s capable of accomplishing when under pressure. Only time will show what this young man is made of and if he has what it takes to make it into the VHL.

To summarize this young goaltender’s drafting to the Calgary Wranglers, It is a very exciting day for Mr. Parise. However his work has only just begun to make it to the big leagues, He has to show he has what it takes to perform at the VHL level day in and day out. We here are all excited to follow Alex’s career and see where it takes him and just how far he is able to go. Hopefully his career is full of good times and he is able to complete his wish of bringing a championship home to Calgary and Ottawa.

Great article. Reminds me of when Ben Bishop didn't get much time in Ottawa, got traded to Tampa, and then cemented himself in the top 10 for goalies in the NHL. Hopefully he can continue to grow with his new team. 10/10
