I think I've used this title before but whatever... who's going to know? I doubt anyone will actually read this article...

 

but the fact remains that there is no better phrase to describe the start of Phil The Rock Johnson's season. Through the 20 games he already has 11 goals (five less than his career high), 15 assists (just under half of his career high), + 15, and 121 hits. If these trends continue, he'll end up with a statline of:

 

40-54-94; +54; 436 hits.

 

I honestly can't see him getting four of five of those statlines. The only realistic one in my eyes would be the 54 assists, but I'm loving his hitting production. It's been a goal of the Rock to get more than 400 hits in a season and I'm hoping he can stay on course for that. If these numbers keep up, he is for sure a big contender not just for the Funk Trophy, but even for the Boulet - another career goal of his. Hopefully his teammates in Calgary can carry him towards glory. He's been carried long enough and needs to finally stretch his legs.
