Ooof, this signature looks like it came straight out of some "Wrong turn" or "Hills have eyes" horror movie. Obviously I think that the dark and scratchy effect is way too much. Like the text tho. With some better effects or maybe just some colour changes, making it simple, the graphic would have been way nicer and better in my opinion.

Review:

You had the right idea, you just did it wrong. I like that texture and I have used it many times but it makes for a tricky top layer/overlay. You would have been better served by using that as a background texture and showcasing your render and text. A few minutes of work could change this into something that is a bit more legible. Keep working, you have skills.

One rule of thumb I guess is that a texture sig really can't cover the face of the render because you will get something like that. You want to make sure that the render and specifically the face stands out, so you don't want to blend it as it will flatten it a bit. In the future, just take a soft brush and erase around the face and for this one specifically the text as well. Now with that being said, some overlay on the render of a texture sig is nice and can usually give depth. Your text placement would work better a bit lower. Seems like youre getting the hang of using additional layers and stuff and are improving regardless, just some small stuff needs to be adjusted. Keep it up!
