a tale of two Brothers // A new dawn

Since last we met our two intrepid heroes, they were playing in three other games for their new team the Reapers. The Bulls, Rush and the Marlins were there adversaries.

The Reapers lost the two first matches and won against the Californian team.

After their very good entry into the new team, the brothers were not able to repeat their performances of 5 and 3 points in four games again. In the first match, which went 3-1 to Houston, neither of the Jansers appeared on the scoreboard. Marcel even took a double minor for highsticking, which led to Wilson's 3-1 in the third and put a nail in the Reapers' coffin. Dokis scored the only goal for the Philadelphia team in the second period and was assisted by Ayodele and Iaxazaluoh. The game became a battle of the goalies with Des Aves recording a solid .903 and Hroch an even better .964. As the former Brigade netminder stole the points almost single handedly, he deservedly was named first star of the night. Silver and Bronze went to Wilson (1g/1a) and Miglaskems (0g/2a) respectively. The Reapers' special teams were okayish with 1/5 in power play and 3/4 for the penalty killing units.

Marcel logged 0g, 0a, -1 and 6 PIM (2x High Sticking, 1x Hooking)

Daniel recorded 0g, 0a, +0 and 2 PIM (for Tripping, no effect on the score)

The second match against Yukon ended 5-2 for the Alaskan team. Marcel had an assist to Dokis' 1-0 2:11 minutes into the game. After that, only Yukon was on the score board with 5 unanswered goals. The final goal in this match was scored by Iaxazaluoh 16:12 minutes into the third, which was too little, too late to change the outcome of the game. Accordingly, the lime light was monopolized by Rush players with Colors (1g/1a), Meridius (0g/2a) and Leduc (0g/2a) being named the three stars of the night. The Des Aves showed a .857 saving rate and was bested by Price's .926. The special teams were ok in terms of penalty killing (3/4) and rather disappointing for the power play (1/8). Especially the latter will not suffice to gain points in games against top teams like the Rush.

Marcel went 0g, 1a, +0 and 3 shots blocked (first of the team)

Daniel logged 0g, 0a and -2

The third showdown against the Marlins was 5-4 with Marcel scoring the game winner with one of his signature slap shots from the blue line. It was a roller coaster of a game with San Diego scoring the first goal of the game, only to be scored against three times in a row. They showed morale though and scored three consecutive games of their own. The Reaper's reply to this Herculean effort was two goals in the same period, which ultimately decided the game. The goalkeeping on either side had room for improvement with .800 (Byrne) and .871 (Des Aves) respectively. The Philadelphian special teams showed improvement with 2/5 in power play and 3/3 on the penalty killing. The three stars were Wilk (2g/0a), Dokis (0g/3a) and Zubov (0g/1a).

Marcel had a 1g, 0a, +0 record.

Daniel had 0g, 0a, -2 and 2 PIM (Interference, no goal scored against the Reapers) to his name.

The Swiss' stats are as follows for the season so far:

Marcel: 40gp, 12g, 22a, 34pts, -2, 36 PIM, 47 hits, 93sb (second of the league), 1gwg, 5ppg

Daniel: 40gp, 16g, 23a, 39pts, -20, 28 PIM, 85 hits, 21sb, 1gwg, 4ppg and 1shg

We will keep our readers updated on the Janser's quest for glory.

Thanks for your feedback it is much appreciated. Glad that you like the idea of a fictious news series... Please do not be shy if you have any suggestions how I can make this series better/more interesting/whatever...
