The Chicago Phoenix’s win streak finally came to an end after 26 games when the New York Americans took them down 4-3 in a game over the weekend. While this came as a shock to some it was an inevitability that the streak would at some point come to an end.

With that being said since the loss the Chicago Phoenix have continued their torrid pace and continue to lead the league by five points over the Vancouver Wolves. What may be more impressive is the fact that the Phoenix goal differential is closing in on a monstrous 100, sitting at 96 currently. Julian Nousiainen, who is currently playing his last season, has set the league on fire and has 97 points in just 52 games which already almost reaching his career high in points which he set last season with 103. Defenseman Matty Socks is also having an incredible final season with 80 points in 52 games good for second spot on the squad.

While the team is in the twilight of its current core they are doing their very best to make one final run and send these players out on top. While there is still plenty of season remaining and the playoffs are always a slog there is no doubt that the Phoenix are putting themselves in a great position to succeed.
