Daniel is a defense-first winger with a scoring touch as he has scored 30 goals and 31 assists in 57 games in the VHLM. He developed from a playmaker with the Hounds (33 games, 13 goals, 21 assists) to a goal scorer with the Reapers (24 games, 17 goals, 10 assist). Despite his relative small size he is not afraid to take checks (121 so far) and considering his dedicated playstyle he doesn't take too many penalties (40 PIM as of game 57). He does occasionally block a shot, but this is not his forte. He is a very good skater with above average defensive as well as offensive tools. This makes Daniel a perfect penalty killer and he scored one shorthanded goal already. Daniel rather likes to play against the puck, but that does not mean that he does not know what to do with it, once in possession. Even though he prefers passing to shooting, he is not shy to step up to the plate if needed, evidenced by his 4 game winning goals. He will adopt any role the coach assigns to him, as he learnt to be a part of a group in the Swiss Army (Switzerland has a compulsory military service for its male citizens). Back in Switzerland he played the odd games as a defenseman, due to some injuries in that department and his coaches never had any reason to regret their decision as his skating skills as well as hockey sense compensate amply for his lack in size. He has a 'can-do' attitude and is rather silent in the locker room, he prefers to lead by example rather with words. He has a very dry sense of humor and can take a joke.

On the downside is his relatively small frame (though stocky) and his inability to use it efficiently in the infights in front of the net or along the boards. Daniel does not shoot exceptionally hard, but precise. After all, 18.48% of his shots landed in net since he joined the Reapers. Which makes him one of the best snipers of the league (only players with at least 10 goals were considered for that purpose). He also has room for improvement on his face-offs as well as penalty shots and he is not very fond of playing fisticuffs.

Overall, a team acquiring Daniel will get a hardworking, well rounded player who can shut down the opposing top line or provide secondary scoring. His speed and agility will open the ice either for him or his team mates and create dangerous rushes and scoring opportunities. He is also always prepared to help team mates to get better and is not too proud to take advise from players who excel in areas in which he has deficits. He is the opposite of a 'Lockerroom poison'.
