The regular season ended for the Reapers with two losses, which means they finish the league on 6th rank and will have to face Minnesota Storm in the first round of the playoffs.

The first match was against Ottawa and the Reapers lost 7-3. The Lynx had 6 consecutive goals right out of the gate before the Reapers were on the score board. Daniel scored on the power play with 5:04 minutes into the second period. He deflected Mursu's shot to which Powers gave the pass to. Jones scored on Powers' pass with 46 seconds left in the middle period to make it 7-2. The final goal for the Reapers as well as the last one in this game was a slap shot from the blue line by Ixazaluoh, assisted by Jones and Lamb scored in power play. The Reapers played very disciplined and only took one trip to the sin bin (Daniel for Hooking) and had 1/1 in the penalty kill as well as a respectable 2/6 in power play. The caveat this time around was the even strength play. Their cause was not helped by Arpa having one of his weaker days with a .767 against Red Menace's .897 with almost identical shots against. The three stars were Towbaker (2g/1a), Torq (2g/0a) and Davis (0g/4a).

Marcel had 0g, 0a and -1

Daniel was noted with 1g, 0a, +0 and 2 PIM (Hooking)

The second game against the Bulls was much tighter with the final score being 7-6 OT for the Texans. This time the Reapers opened the score. It was AL who scored in power play, after Daniel saw the box out of position and one touch passed the puck he received from Jp. Only 25 seconds later, Bernier scored with his 32nd goal of the season, assisted by Jp and Dokis. Then the Bulls had two back-to-back goals to tie the game. However, AL (Daniel, Mursu) in power play again and Laperriere (Dokis, Jp) reinstated the two goal lead for the first intermission. The second period ended 1-1 with Marcel scoring for the Reapers, assisted by AL and TheGreat. The Philadelphians apparently ran out of steam after this long and taxing season and allowed three consecutive goals in the third period. Luckily, Jp was not happy with his team snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and tied the game with 3:46 minutes left in the game. He was supported by Dokis and Moinet. Sudden death it was then. After 2:38 Kiprusoff scored the game winner. Arpa had one of his weaker games with .759 against Hroch's .800 with 29 vs 30 shots to be taken care of. The penalty kill was lousy (2/4) and the power play okay-ish (2/10). The three stars were Jp (1g/3a), Kiprusoff (3g/0a) and Komaryk (1g/2a).

Marcel was reported with 1g, 0a and -2

Daniel logged 0g, 2a, -1, 2 PIM (Roughing, no goal scored against in Houston's ensuing power play) and 4 hits (top of the team)

We want to take some time to reflect on the Reapers' season and some of their main contributor to the team's success.

Ixazaluoh is one of only three defensemen winning the team topscorer title next to the Bulls' Biggie Cheese and the Kings' Dookie Headtop. His 134 blocked shots are fourth in the league (behind Desu, Headtop and his team mate Marcel). He was also the Reapers' dishmaster with 66 assists to his name. On top he scored 15 out of his 20 goals in power play.

Sanderson leads the team in checking (207 hits) by a country mile as well as in time spent (95 PIM) in the sin bin. He is also the best sniper in the team (19.77%) with the second most game winners (5).

Bernier scored 32 goals and has the best +/- rating (+14) of the team.

Daniel had 40 goals (although 13 of them for the Hounds), 6 game winners (1 of them for the Hounds) is second in the checking department (152), and scored 14 power play goals (4 for the Hounds) only one behind Ixazaluoh's 15.

Marcel was the player who sacrificed his body the most with 137 blocked shots (83 for the Hounds).

The brothers' stats for the regular season:

Marcel: 72gp, 14g, 40a, 54pts, -8, 52 PIM, 75 hits, 137sb, 1gwg, 6ppg

Daniel: 72gp, 40g, 40a, 80pts, -10, 52 PIM, 152 hits, 26sb, 6gwg, 14ppg, 1shg

We will not fail to report from the Reapers' playoff run in due course.

It's high time I review these, because quite frankly I think you easily put some of the most effort into these on this site. They are always great summations of the games we played and they're my go to for finding out details of the games we played. In fact, if I miss the sim and you post this first, I will almost always read your "tale of two brothers" to find out how the sim went. You do a very good job also reporting on the successes of others and not just the two Jansers.

It's been very fun to follow along so far and I am looking forward to what happens for the Jansers in the VHL! 10/10

They've got matching temperaments too it seems 😛

I love these articles, they really do feel like they're from an actual sports website or magazine. They're very informative and it makes it easy to keep up with the brothers and the rest of the team! I wish you guys the best of luck in the playoffs.
